Assembly Associate

An Assembly Associate performs assembly activities of a semi-repetitive nature using a variety of hand-held/controlled power tools. Must be available for either 1st shift (6am to 2:30pm) or 2nd shift (Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm to 1:00am) though hours can vary. Please express your preference for 1st or 2nd shift. Material Handler

A Material Handler loads and unloads goods from vehicles, moves material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and/or shelves by hand-truck, industrial truck, pallet jack, or by hand. Experienced Power Industrial Truck drivers preferred. Must be available for either 1st shift (6am to 2:30pm) or 2nd shift (Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm to 1:00am) though hours can vary. CNC Machine Operator

A CNC Machine Operator pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine, observes machine during operation to detect work-piece defects or machining malfunction, measures work-piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation, and removes burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from work-piece. Prior experience with CNC Machines preferred. Must be available for either 1st shift (6am to 2:30pm) or 2nd shift (Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm to 1:00am) though hours can vary. Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator

A Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator assembles circuit board assemblies repetitively, working on the shop floor by performing the following duties:

  • Regular, reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • Assembles product according to work instructions.
  • Operates automated equipment (Screen printer, pick and place, reflow and automated inspection equipment) according to work instructions
  • Inspects product in accordance to IPC-A-610
  • Assemble boxes, cases and/or other materials as needed for finished product.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and communicate clearly with others.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate ‘attention to detail’ in an effort to produce first-class quality assembling process and quality of product.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory parts, components at work station.
  • Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste.
  • Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects to ensure a prompt response to the issue.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Overtime may be assigned.
  • Required to work during inventory by physically counting or weighing the materials/parts and recording results.

Director, Product Engineering

Directs, guides and coordinates activities of the Engineering Department to ensure the development and on-time launch of defect free products, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct activities for the design of new products, modify existing designs, and develop test procedures.
  • Coordinate Engineering activities during product development and launch following the APQP process.
  • Develop and maintain state of the art engineering capability including test labs, prototype equipment,CAD design and advanced methods, e.g. FMEA, FEA, CFD, etc.
  • Analyze technology trends and leverages appropriate technologies into DAVCO's products.
  • Develop and coordinate implementation of training for his/her respective resources.
  • Forecast operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
  • Maintain contact with OEM engineers at vehicle and equipment manufacturers to assure DAVCO products meet application criteria.
  • Ensure department meets any criteria associated with certification for the IATF 16949 program.
  • Maintain and support an active cross-functional team approach to projects and problem solving.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Engineering Department

Purchases merchandise or commodities for manufacturing and supplies for the office by performing the following duties.

  • Obtains bids and places orders for supplies, material and equipment.
  • Negotiates delivery schedules, pricing, and performance requirements with suppliers.
  • Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-useable, slow moving, and excess stock.
  • Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Operates as an integral member of the Operations Team to solve daily issues and keep production flowing smoothly.
  • Composes purchase order(s) and forwards copy to supplier and department originating request.
  • Verifies invoices from suppliers and approves for payment.
  • Expedites orders when necessary demonstrating “urgency” when situations develop.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of MRP system.
  • Coordinates physical inventory procedures externally and internally.
