New for 2017

Announcing New 2017 Models Diesel Pro 245 and the Fuel Pro 485 and Fuel Pro 487

In order to meet the new diesel fuel filter specifications established by Daimler/Detroit Diesel and Cummins Engines, DAVCO Technology along with their alliance partner Cummins Filtration has developed new fuel filter models to meet and exceed the new engine requirement for fuel filtration and water separation.

Fuel water separation (FWS) is highly dependent on fuels Interfacial tension (IFT). Interfacial or surface tension exists when two phases are present. These phases can be gas/oil, oil/water or gas/water. Interfacial tension is the force that holds the surface of a particular phase together. The lower the IFT the more difficult it is to separate water from the fuel. IFT can be lowered with the addition of anti-wear additives, lubricity enhancers, rust inhibitors and biodiesel. Due to the negative impact of water and other additives on common rail fuel injection system hardware, Daimler/Detroit Diesel/DTNA and Cummins Medium duty engines have mandated that primary fuel filters must meet certain performance criteria with low IFT fuels.

The fuel filter incorporates three stages to provide the best in class water separation for diesel fuels. Stage one is a water stripping media, Stage two is an additional water coalescing stage and Stage three has a Hydrophobic (water barrier) screen. These three stages provide > 93% efficiency for emulsified water removal with low IFT fuels, (SAE D1488) at maximum flow rate.

“SEEING IS BELIVING®

The combination of the clear cover on top, the EleMax filter cartridge and the Statapore filter media ensure better water separation, longer filter life and provide instant visual diagnostics of fuel quality to protect engine system components.

Extended Filter Life

Change the filter only when the fuel reaches the black band on the filter wrap. As the fuel rises inside the filter cover, the vapor pressure relief valve on the cap equalizes pressure and allows more of the filter media to be used.

The color of the fuel and the filter media is not an indication of when to change the filter as there is still unused media under the filter wrap.
Fuel Heating

Electric pre-heaters warm the fuel once the ignition key is turned. Overnight heaters can be used to keep the fuel inside the Diesel Pro warm when the temperatures drop.

Fuel Pro 485 and 487

The Fuel Pro 485 and Fuel Pro 487 models are customized specifically for the 2017-2018 Detroit Diesel DD13, DD15 and DD16 Engines

Models

  • Fuel Pro 485 for DTNA: With bypass valve
  • Fuel Pro 485: Without bypass valve and WIF
  • Fuel Pro 487

Options

  • Base Model: Unheated
  • Electric pre-heater Options (Heaters can be combined if desired)
    • 12 VDC pre-heater
    • 120 VAC overnight heater
